This is a general size recommendation for one muffler.

Wool packaging is designed to last longer than standard muffler mat packaging. It’s also able to handle extreme temperatures.

Refreshing your muffler packing can produce up to a 2-horsepower gain (7000 to 8000 RPM) over a worn-out muffler. A blown muffler can also cause a drastic loss of low-end response. It’s recommended that you change your muffler packing every 10-15 hours to maintain your muffler’s peak performance.

The more densely you pack the muffler – the longer it will last, better heat insulation, and better performance. But will be slightly heavier and will attenuate sound levels less (increase sound).

The less densely you pack the muffler – the shorter the life span, less heat insulation, and less performance. But will be slightly lighter and will attenuate sound levels more (decrease sound).
