2016 Australian Piaggio Vespa Conference

Scott and Andrea headed off to Sydney in October to attend the Australian Piaggio Vespa Conference.  Here’s some of the interesting information they picked up while they were there!

70 years of Vespa – Vespa Settantesimo

70 YEARS OF VESPAThe 70th Anniversary Special Edition Vespa’s were unveiled on Sunday 9th and Monday 10th October and they are spectacular!

In the spring of 1946, the first Vespa rolled off the assembly line in Pontedera, Italy.  After 70 years and more than 18 million units, Piaggio are celebrating this incredible milestone with a limited edition model range which includes the Vespa Primavera 150, Vespa GTS300 and the historic Vespa PX150.

These 3 special models embody the modern charm of Vespa with 7 decades of stylistic charm combined with traditional design.  Each model features:

  • Chromatic Azzuro 70 colour scheme
  • Elegant Marrone coloured saddle embossed with the Vespa logo and contrasting piping
  • 70th Anniversary logo on the inner front shield
  • Classic chrome rear rack
  • Leather rear bag with 70th logo colour coded to the saddle (made in Italy!), and
  • Contrasting grey wheel colours.

Our orders arrived last week… and are in store now.  Come on in and check them out.

Piaggio Medley 150 & 150 S – A Closer Look

Piaggio Medley 150 & 150 S - A Closer LookWe got to have a good look at the new Piaggio Medley 150 & 150 S and must admit we were both very impressed.  A nice ride, a comfortable pillion seat, more than enough get up and go to get us around Sydney and with “start stop” technology, it is super fuel efficient.

The marketing blurb on the Piaggio Medley says it is a urban, accessible vehicle incorporating the features of elegance, comfort and safety with outstanding technology and efficiency and that pretty much does sum it up perfectly.

It features double channel ABS, Start & Stop technology, amazing under seat storage (fits two open face helmets easily) and a low centre of gravity for ease of movement.

We’ve got a demonstrator on its way – give Charlie a ring on 07 5455 5249 or contact us here to arrange a test ride.

Hope you enjoyed that update from the world of Piaggio Australia!
