GTV ‘OFFICINA 8’ Celebration of a Famous Legacy THE MISSION: Top secret, establish a workspace known as the ‘Officina Sperimentale’ ? an experimental test centre ? officially designated as Officina 8. In the early stage, the Officina 8 was a small workshop, where a select group of engineers, tinsmiths, fitters and mechanics spent days tinkering and tweaking the Vespa prototypes put forward by the design team. The fledgling Officina 8 began to expand, through summer breaks skilled craftsmen would relocate operations to the Apennine Mountains where vehicles were pushed through their paces in all weather onditions. Eventually, this Experimental Department was housed near the test track where world records fell as Vespa was propelled to new levels of success.

The 300-cc single-cylinder HPE (High Performance Engine) ensures the Vespa GTV delivers gritty performance. With four-valve timing, liquid cooling and electronic fuel injection it offers up to 17.5 kW (23.8 hp), making it the most powerful engine ever fitted on a Vespa.
