Sydney Motorcycle Show 2017
Scott and I popped down to Sydney to check out the Sydney Motorcycle Show 2017 on Friday 25th November… it was a whirlwind trip! Sydney one day, Cairns for my sisters wedding and then back to Sydney for a 50th birthday of a great friend of ours. By the time we got back we were ready for a bit of a rest!
Even though we were arrived Thursday night and left Friday afternoon, we did and saw so much it has taken us a week to assimilate all the information!
On Thursday night, we headed to the Deus Ex Machina Flagship Store in Camperdown for the Australian launch of the Hedon Workshop range of helmets. Yes, they are expensive, but they only make about 6,000-8,000 helmets per annum globally and the majority of production is by hand. The helmets look awesome with some beautiful finishing touches in paint and interior linings.
We had the opportunity to catch up with Wenz from Scooteria (Sydney’s largest scooter dealer), Paul from the Piaggio Vespa Marketing Team, Mark and Steve from Distinguished Gentlemans Ride and Throttle Roll, Ben from Deus Ex Machina and Ralph from Australian Motorcyclist, all of whom we hadn’t seen in ages!
It was home early so we could be there early on Friday morning to the ICC for the opening of the Sydney Motorcycle Show.
The main reason for our visit was to see the new Royal Enfield 650cc Twins… and they did not disappoint one bit. They are truly beautiful… really beautiful…
We headed over to the Royal Enfield stand as soon as we got there and ran into Santina from Royal Enfield Sydney, Rick from MotoMax Perth and of course, the Royal Enfield Australia Team. It’s always great to catch up with them, their enthusiasm and excitement is infectious!
The first thing Scott did was sit on the new Royal Enfield Interceptor 650 Twin and fell in love… He liked it so much he ordered 4 of them straight way – 2 of the Royal Enfield Interceptor 650 Twin and 2 of the Royal Enfield Continental GT 650 Twin! We are expecting them in 2018 and are taking preorders now. Once we get pricing on them we will let you know!
We also got our first look at the new Royal Enfield Classic 500 Celebrate the Dark Range… These beautiful new colour schemes come standard with a matte black finish, rear disc brakes and ABS. Due to arrive in store in December, it’s time to celebrate the dark with the new Royal Enfield Classic 500 Stealth Black and Royal Enfield Classic 500 Gunmetal Grey. This model will be $8,990 including on roads and we are looking forward to having them in store soon!
All in all a terrific visit and we have so many new and exciting things to come over the next few months!
