Benzina Zero products only use LG/Samsung cells and are considered the benchmark for quality and performance. There are many products on the market that use “no-name” cells and this can lead to reliability issues.
What kind of electric motors do Benzina Zero use and why?
Benzina Zero products only use Bosch motors and are considered the benchmark for quality.
How much does it cost to run a Benzina Zero moped or scooter?
A typical petrol scooter costs around $10/100km but a Benzina Zero is around $1/100km. Even less if you use your solar electricity.
How often do I service my Benzina Zero?
The service interval is 4,000km or 12 months, whichever comes first.
How long is the warranty for my Benzina Zero?
The warranty is for 2 years or 10,000kms whichever comes first. The warranty covers both the battery and the scooter.

Benzina Zero has conducted Australian local testing but there are multiple factors that can impact on the range including weight of rider and cargo, temperature, performance mode selection, how fast you ride, and how hilly/flat your area is.
How do I charge my scooter?
Use the supplied charger and any 240v wall socket.
How long does it take to charge my scooter?
That depends on how much charge your battery needs but a couple of hours is all you need. It also only takes 10 seconds to swap a battery.
How often do I charge my scooter?
That depends on how much you ride but you should not let your battery drop below 20%. This is like your mobile phone, you’re best to cycle the battery but not let it run flat. If you drop below 20% the BMS (battery management) will limit the scooter’s performance to protect the battery.
How much does it cost to register?
In QLD a single-seat rego is around $345 per year and a dual seat is $528.
What licence do I need?
You can ride the City and Duo (LA Moped) on a car licence in QLD but you will need a motorcycle licence for the Duo+ and Sport (LC Motorcycle). You cannot carry a pillion unless you hold a motorcycle licence, even if your moped is registered as a dual seater.

What happens to the batteries at end of life?
They are recycled. Benzina Zero is one of the first Automotive Manufacturers in Australia to join the B-Cycle program run by the Battery Stewardship Council of Australia. Benzina Zero pays a levy for each battery provided to the market to fund battery end-of-life recycling programs to reclaim the critical resources that make up a battery.
