December 2007 - Scooter Style Newsletter It has been a pretty crazy year here at Scooter Style! We hope you all had a very Merry Christmas and are shaping up for a terrific New Year in 2008. So many exciting things have happened in 2007 - we have taken on the dealership for Peugeot Scooters and Sachs MadAss. Our Accessories range has increased and we are stocking everything performance wise, from Sava tyres to Malossi Multivar kits, Gianelli Exhausts to Kevlar Belts! And more things to give your scooter some bling - white wall tyres and Vespa branded mudflaps. We also welcomed Simon to the team this year as well! One of the really exciting things which occurred this year was the Scooteroo ride to Boreen Point in November - it was a blast and great to see so many scooterists coming together in one place. Another was Rob, Shel and Craig competing in the 6 Hour Scooter Race at Willowbank, Ipswich on the 15th December. These guys did really well coming 2nd in their class (Shel was the only female competitor!). And of course, the Noosa Shire Council reworking the parking plans in Noosa Shire to include more parking for Scooters and Motorcycles was just fantastic! We have now got more parking all over the place with more to come as well.
Scooteroo Overnight Run “Boreen Point” November 2007 Well, all who attended the Scooteroo run up to Boreen Point just north of Noosa had a ball. About 52 scooters converged on the Apollonian Hotel at Boreen with a large number of them camping or staying in the dorm rooms at the Hotel. The first group left Brisbane from Scooter Scooters in Fortitude Valley at about 1.30pm on Saturday 17th November and headed up the coast to join up with a group of scooterists from Scooter Style, Noosa who had gone the long way round to Caloundra via the mountains. Another group of smaller capacity scooters headed out from Scooter Style, Noosa at about 3.30pm on the Saturday to meet up the bigger group at the Apollonian Hotel. It was an impressive site to see the group of scooters pull in to the grassed lawn in front of the Hotel and everyone got together for a chat and a beer. The Apollonian Hotel provided Pig-on-a-Spit with enough food to feed an army and a great array of salads and veges to go with it. They were more than happy to accommodate a few non-meat eaters on the night with grilled barra instead! All up the night was just fantastic, with good food, good music and a few beers. The Scooter Style crew came home with a few prizes – Dallas’ Italjet Dragstar for the “Most Unique Scooter”, Andrea’s Bolwell SYM Mio took home the “Most Bling” award, Simon’s Yamaha Aerox 50 for the “Scooter which does what it shouldn’t” award. Simon had the smallest cc scooter there but could easily keep time with the bigger scooters. The next morning breakfast was rounded up and the scooterists began the ride back to their homes… The Scooter Style group had a bit of excitement when Dallas’ Italjet Dragstar 180cc broke a belt on the way back (all the way to Caloundra through a pretty tough mountain ride and not a problem…). All up a fantastic weekend and based on the support it received in its inaugural meet should be an annual event!
