Hello again everyone!! Guess what! It’s Scooter Styles’ first birthday!!! We thought in celebration of this momentous occasion, we would have a bit of a party at Scooter Style on Saturday 28th July. We will fire up the BBQ from 11am. Bring your scooter as we will have some prizes for the best turned out scoots on the day. We would love to see heaps of scooters there (not just scooter style customers but all brands and riders welcome and encouraged so let your friends know) as it will be a great day. | |
There will be prizes for: - Best 50cc-150cc - Best maxi - Best classic/manual - Most original mods - Most Kilometres - Spot prizes on the day And I know it has been a while since our last newsletter and we do apologise. But time has just got away from us (as always). Now that we are getting through winter and into spring it means that great scootering weather is coming and to make it more comfortable we have a great range of gloves, jackets and neck warmers in stock. | Bolwell has a new model being released and should be available mid August 2007. It is the VS125 and it is pretty cool. Scott was lucky to have the opportunity to ride it last month and he was very impressed. It has great under seat storage that he says rivals most 250cc scooters, halogen headlights, great handling and brakes. It comes in a great range of four colours – Silver, Black, White & Red – we will be receiving scooters from the first shipment. If you want to check it out go to the scooter forum and look at the VS125 posts or click here. |
Scott has been working with the Noosa Council in relation to development of their scooter & motorcycle strategy, helping to identify areas where scooters and scooterists could be assisted and to help make Noosa an even better place to scoot around, e.g. parking and scooter friendly areas. Noosa Council have instigated a Scooter Survey (Right click here and "Save As" to download.), please complete and either post, email or drop it in to Scott at the shop or to Alison Hamblin, Project Officer, Travelsmart Noosa, Noosa Council (travelsmart@noosa.qld.gov.au). Not only will you be having your voice as a scooterist heard but you will be in the draw to win a family pass to Underwater World. So take advantage of this opportunity to say your bit about scootering! Some of you may not be aware but Scooter Style now has a forum linked onto the website where you guys and girls, the scooter riders, can get online, post thoughts and ideas about scooters and scooter riders. It isn’t just for Scooter Style customers it is for all scooter riders the world over. We felt so strongly about this that we are using an external moderator. We are getting a good response so far and have members both locally and as far afield as the USA. Scooter Style Support
 | As you are probably aware from our last newsletter we supported the Cindy MacKenzie Breast Cancer Foundation together with Toyworld Noosa and Zinc 96.1FM. The lucky winner of the Bolwell Mio 50 scooter was D Pittman. The Cindy MacKenzie Breast Cancer Foundation supports women and their families by providing assistance in many ways – practical, financial or emotional. More information about the Foundation is available on www.cmbcf.com. |
Tips for Scooting If you haven’t been riding your scooter much over winter – remember to check your oil. Regardless of whether you ride a 2 stroke or a 4 stroke scooter, oil is essential! We recommend Motul Scooter Experts 2 and 4 stroke oils. And another item which often gets overlooked - Tyre Pressure. Regularly check your tyre pressure, the recommended psi will be written on the sidewall or your tyres. Of course, if you are unsure what the correct tyre pressure for your tyres is, just drop in and see Scott and he will help you out. Looking forward to celebrating our first birthday with you on Saturday 28th July @ Scooter Style for a fun day and sausages (Scott’s fav food)! |
